A bold statement but easily backed up. For 15 years the Taylor Moroccan rug and exotic textile collection was exhibited at major museums around America. The tour began at the Textile Museum, in Washington DC, in 1980 and ended with a special exhibition at the United nations in 1995. The Taylor UN exhibit was the only exhibition of any items, other than photographs, to ever grace the halls of this Parliament of Man. King Hassan 2nd of Morocco requested the Taylor collection exhibit and Under-secretary “General Butros Butros Ghali” granted his request. In a one month period an estimated 30,000 people perused the collection. Judi and I were fortunate to conduct hourly tours.
This video will give you the opportunity to see the Taylor collection in museum settings, all the way to the United Nations.
